CCC was organized to fight against 'venality' in city |
|
The Supreme Court has a naïve belief in the inherent altruism of city councils, when all too often their driving motivation is venality. Take for example we here in Cupertino.
We woke one day to find that, after fighting canyonization for years, it had very quietly sneaked in at the major intersection of Stevens Creek and De Anza boulevards with the approval of that monstrosity that is the Cypress Hotel.
The Concerned Citizens of Cupertino was organized against the strident opposition of the council and developers. Fighting this organized venal obstructionism at every step, the CCC has resulted in people getting three measures on the ballot which will restrict such intrusive high rises, commercial setbacks and density.
