Initiatives are the last chance for residents to be heard
The Alliance for a Better Cupertino, supported by the developers, city officials and social engineering advocates, have mounted a campaign to demonize the Concerned Citizens of Cupertino and those whose signatures placed the CCC initiatives on the ballot.

Thus, Charlie Ahern (letters, July 13) calls for a neighborly and civil fight while accusing Ned Britt of calling opponents of the initiatives "liars" and claiming that Britt is running for city council. Nowhere in Britt's opinion piece (June 29) can I find such statements.
Ahern ignores the opinion of Rich Robinson (July 13) in which Robinson states that Britt promotes "blatant lies." Apparently, neighborliness and civility don't apply to the "Alliance for Building up Cupertino advocates."
Britt's letter provides a cogent explanation of the initiatives, which is the real problem for the ABC.
The ABC prefers a campaign of misinformation and confusion of the citizenry. Fortunately, our citizens are educated and informed and will make a considered decision on the initiatives.
The supporters of the ABC are profiteering developers, city officials who benefit by cooperating with them and social engineering advocates/organizations who do not reside in Cupertino or have offices here.
In November, the citizens of Cupertino will have one and only one chance to determine the future of this city. If the initiatives are defeated, there will never be another opportunity to be heard, and the city will no longer belong to its citizens.
